Centered on the theme “AI x Robotics Solutions for Service Innovation”, the Digitalization Forum was held on 8 May 2018. This forum aimed to promote Japan’s artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic solutions in the services industry with a focus on the medical and healthcare fields. As gold sponsor, Hitachi delivered a special presentation on robotics and hosted an exhibition booth focused on healthcare solutions which ran alongside the conference.
Dr. Amy Khor Lean Suan, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Health, Environment and Water Resources graced the event as guest-of-honour and encouraged guests to embrace the opportunities that longevity brings to Singapore and the region. Other guest speakers delved deeper into fundamentals, case studies, challenges and benefits of AI and Robotics through a series of speeches and panel discussions.
During his presentation, Mr. Akira Fujibayashi, General Manager, Research and Development Center, Hitachi Asia Ltd., explained how Lumada can help predict and contribute to solving social issues such as the decline of the working adult population over time, as well as the rise of an ageing population. He introduced EMIEW3, Hitachi’s very own human symbiotic robot and highlighted visions of how it can safely co-exist and co-work with people in their daily lives across various settings.
Hitachi Medical Systems (S) Pte Ltd (HMSS) was also at the exhibition and showcased an array of solutions centered on intraoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (iMRI) and the concept of utilising AI in diagnostic imaging. During the networking break, Mr. Noritomo Koike, Managing Director of HMSS explained about Hitachi’s innovative medical and healthcare contributions in Singapore to Dr. Amy Khor.
Through highlighting Hitachi’s strengths and capabilities in medical fields during the networking session, guests were given the opportunity to understand more about Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business. Jointly organised by Nikkei Inc. and NUS Enterprise at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House, National University of Singapore, the event attracted over 220 guests.
