First Shipment of
PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia

Since PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia (HIAMS AS-IB)’s first establishment on 18 November 2014, and its Factory Grand Opening on 30 November 2015, the company had envisioned great plans to mass produce Motorcycle Brake Systems for Astra Honda Motor (AHM).


However, things did not go as planned and more time was needed for (HIAMS AS-IB) to build up their technical expertise, as well as their credibility.


For the next few years, (HIAMS AS-IB) went through vigorous training and development to further upgrade the skill-sets of their employees. Apart from domestic training within Indonesia, employees were also sent overseas to understudy directly from Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. Japan, Yamanashi Factory where their foundation in basic knowledge of the manufacturing process were further enhanced. Employees were also sent to Thailand to learn about the process of quality production and warehousing control.


Despite a bad start to the business, the turnover rate in (HIAMS AS-IB) was near to zero. Everyone believed in the Hitachi’s vision to deliver innovations that answer society’s challenges and pressed on. Finally, their First Shipment to AHM materialized on 10 April 2018. To celebrate this milestone, (HIAMS AS-IB) held a ceremony where all employees attended.


Moving forward, (HIAMS AS-IB) will use the Hitachi Founding Spirit to continue in their line of business to further contribute to society through the development of superior, original technology and products.
