Hitachi Plays Santa 2022: Build-a-Wheelchair

A strong advocate for giving back to the community and fondly known as the organization that powers good, Hitachi is committed to reaching out and making a difference in the lives of past, present and future generations.

Up and running in its sixth edition, Hitachi Plays Santa 2022 saw over 150 Hitachi employees from 15 Hitachi Group of Companies (GoCs) in Singapore come together as One Hitachi to participate in this meaningful event. Hitachi employees banded together to donate, as well as to build wheelchairs for our selected beneficiary, All Saints Home @ Hougang - a social service agency providing comprehensive and professional eldercare services to the aged from all walks of life.

Seeing a total of 38 employees¹ work together as One Hitachi to construct wheelchairs for the residents of All Saints Home @ Hougang indeed demonstrated Hitachi’s belief in powering good within the community.

Additionally, a grand total of SGD$15,839 was raised. $9,500 was the raw material cost of 25 wheelchairs which Hitachi built and donated to the home, while the balance of $$6,339 was donated to offset the home’s daily operational expenses. This is Hitachi’s way of showing appreciation and giving back towards the elderly community – a vital pillar known for laying down the foundation in Singapore.
