Doing Good for Society

Dear Colleagues,

As 2019 comes to a close, I hope you managed to spend some quality time with your friends and loved ones. As a company, I hope we will take some time to reflect on what we could have done better moving forward.

In November, Hitachi celebrated its 29th consecutive year of sponsoring the Orchard Road Christmas Light-Up in Singapore. Tied to this sponsorship is our annual donation to Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services where proceeds are used to empower families in need. This aptly echoes Hitachi’s global message of “Hitachi Social Innovation is POWERING GOOD” where we hope to make the world a better place to live in.

In another part of ASEAN, Myanmar recently secured their second order from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy to produce another 5,600 units of distribution transformers to light up more lives in the country. And in Thailand, Hitachi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Frasers Property to drive digital transformation in the real estate industry within the Asia Pacific region. These are some examples of how Hitachi is transforming lives in this region and powering good with our technologies and innovations.

As you go on your well-deserved holidays, remember that each one of us has the power to do good for the society because ‘I am Hitachi’.
