100,000 Man-Hours Safety Celebration at the New NCCS Site!
On 8 November, Hitachi and JEL Maintenance Pte Ltd (JML) celebrated the achievement of 100,000 safe man-hours without lost time injuries at the new Project Site of the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS).
Since April 2019, Hitachi has been heavily involved in the installation of the Particle Beam Therapy (PBT) system at the new Project Site of NCCS, which is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Hence, this celebration was a significant safety milestone achievement which marked the smooth work in a challenging environment. Working with a multi-national team, it was even more prudent to ensure direct and close communications daily between all site workers and professionals.
During the celebration, NCCS Head of Physicists, Professor James Lee shared his past experiences on the importance of safety during his speech. Additionally, Safety Awards were presented to the various outstanding workers and supervisors who had displayed good safety practices during their course of work at the site.
Hitachi will continue to uphold andĀ improve its safety culture and quality by taking ownership of the safety and support for the Safety Management system in NCCS site until the successful completion of the first PBT in Southeast Asia.
