What inspired your project, and how did you make it happen?
Water scarcity is one of the most pressing issues in the Philippines, and the urgency to address this issue inspired us to embark on developing “New Water” technology. Recycling treated wastewater gives us the potential to provide sustainable solutions for communities struggling with limited water resources.
Through unwavering passion and dedication, our team managed to achieve our ambitious goals. We were united by a common goal - to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by water scarcity. This shared vision kept us motivated and focused. Even when we faced challenges, such as language barriers, misunderstandings and disagreements, we maintained a positive attitude and upheld a strong sense of camaraderie. Our team spirit was crucial, allowing us to support each other through difficult times and celebrate our successes together. We believed that a positive mindset could help us overcome any obstacle, and it did.
Moreover, the relationships we built with our customers were pivotal to our success. Understanding their needs and working closely with them enabled us to tailor our solutions effectively. This close collaboration not only ensured customer satisfaction but also strengthened our commitment in making a real impact.
New Water technology inspired me deeply because it combines innovative solutions with a genuine commitment to societal well-being. The passion, teamwork, positive attitude, and customer relationships we fostered were key elements that drove our success and made our efforts truly rewarding.
How does your project align with Hitachi Values of Harmony, Sincerity and Pioneering Spirit?
New Water technology by the Water & Environment Business Unit was designed by Hitachi experts and inspired by PUB NEWater. The project succeeded due to the team's trust and determination. After our first order from Maynilad in March 2022, we encountered numerous challenges but we stayed resilient. Fresh ideas from a new team member then helped us close the deal in seven months, showing our pioneering spirit and adaptability.
During implementation, we dealt with misunderstandings and communication barriers. However, our team maintained good harmony through open discussions and mutual support, always staying positive even under pressure. The collaboration with Maynilad showcased sincerity and mutual respect. Both teams learned from each other and resolved disagreements constructively, building a mutual relationship that went beyond business to genuine friendship. This project demonstrated Hitachi's commitment to sustainable water solutions, driven by Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit. We are on target to complete the project together by Q3 2024, and we aim to make a positive impact on society.
