Won the ‘SAP Excellence Awards’ from SAP for the Best SAP Business One Project, implemented at KTL Offshore Pte. Ltd.

JULY

Supplied a compressor package for the Betara Project in Indonesia.

OCTOBER

Received a M&E Package contract to install, supply, test and commission for GE Haiphong plant project in Vietnam.

NOVEMBER

HAS-SIN relocated from Hitachi Tower to Hitachi Square at 7 Tampines Grande.

Merged Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. into Hitachi India Trading Pvt. Ltd.

March

Hitachi India Trading Pvt. Ltd. renamed as Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. (HIL)

April

Established Centre of Excellence (CoE) in HAS-SIN.

May

Hitachi and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business in the Asian Belt Zone through the CoE.

JULY

Held the Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative Alumni Forum in Singapore in conjunction with the 100-year anniversary of Hitachi, Ltd.

SEPTEMBER

Held the Hitachi Eco Conference 2010 in Singapore.

October

Transferred Elevator and Escalator Business to Hitachi Elevator Asia Pte. Ltd.

November

Marked our 20th year of sponsorship of Christmas Light-Up along Orchard Road and contribution to Community Chest of Singapore with group companies in Singapore.

JANUARY

Held the 11th Hitachi Youth Leaders Initiative in Hanoi, Vietnam.

October

HIL became operationally independent from HAS.

December

Received an order from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to implement a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based solution to track equipment and assets.

2012
February

Held the Hitachi Eco Conference 2012 in Jakarta.

March

Transferred Display Division to KOE Asia Pte. Ltd., following the establishment of Japan Display Inc.

APRIL

Established R&D Center Malaysia Office to develop IoT-empowered solutions for the oil and gas industry.

NOVEMBER

Established HAS-TH Yangon Branch.

2013
March

ICE Division of HAS-SIN relocated to West Park Bizcentral, Singapore with a larger office, warehouse, workshop and training centre.

June

Hitachi began manufacturing its first 500kV-class Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) in Indonesia.

Hitachi entered into a contract with Management Authority for Urban Railways of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for the construction of Vietnam’s first Urban Railway in Ho Chi Minh City.

JULY

Held the 12th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative in Bangkok, Thailand.

AUGUST

Established Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. (HAS-VN) in Ho Chi Minh City.

OCTOBER

Clinched an order from Nissan Motor Thailand (NMT) to supply, analyse and improve its Dealer Management System (DMS) and to accelerate the rollout of DMS to all NMT outlets.

Established PT. Hitachi Asia Indonesia.

DECEMBER

Established Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. Representative Office in Hanoi.

JANUARY

Received a maintenance contract from Tenaga Nasional Berhad for the maintenance of Hitachi generators installed in 1988 at Kenyir (Sultan Mahmud) Hydroelectric Power Project in Malaysia.

MAY

Established Hitachi Asia Ltd. Myanmar Branch.

Developed and launched a Contract Management System in ASEAN.

JUNE

Hitachi JP1 won the “Best in IT Asset Management Award” at NetworkWorld Asia Information Management Awards 2014.

AUGUST

Received the first order from Meralco to supply 115KV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) to Banyan Station in Philippines.

OCTOBER

Hitachi JP1 won the “Best Server Infrastructure Management Award” at NetworkWorld Asia Readers’ Choice Product Excellence Awards 2014.

Facilitated an upgrade of the Sentosa Express’ signalling and control systems to an automatic train operation (ATO), driverless system and provided one additional train.

Facilitated the first phase of overhauling work for monorail trains on the Sentosa Express.

NOVEMBER

Held the Hitachi Innovation Forum 2014 in Singapore in conjunction with Hitachi’s 50th anniversary in Singapore, since Hitachi, Ltd. established its first Singapore office in 1963.

Hitachi, together with a consortium entered into a contract with Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for the supply and construction of Chaiya Phum Stations which included a 500KV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS).

2015
February

Hitachi and its consortium partners received an order from Urban Civil Works Construction – Investment Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam to expand a large-scale sewage treatment facility in the city.

March

Hitachi and its consortium partners collaborated on an energy saving system and efficient energy management system for commercial buildings and facilities in townships owned or managed by Sunway in Malaysia.

April

Established Rail System Group in HAS-SIN.

May

Received the first order from state-owned Utility Company, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for the maintenance of Gas-Insulated Switchgears (GIS) at Waru Substation in Indonesia.

Hitachi won a contract with Myanmar Railways to deliver a signalling system along a 140 km route connecting Yangon Central Railway Station and Pyuntasa Station in the Bago region.

JUNE

Hitachi JP1 won the "IT Asset Management" category award at NetworkWorld Asia Information Management Awards 2015.

JULY

Established Hitachi Industrial Equipment Singapore (HISG).

Held the 13th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative in Manila, Philippines.

OCTOBER

Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) Pte. Ltd. received an order to provide security and building facilities systems for Singapore’s Northpoint City.

Hitachi JP1 voted as “The Best Server Infrastructure Management” and awarded the “Hall of Fame” at NetworkWorld Asia Readers’ Choice Product Excellence Awards 2015.

Won an order from Singapore Cancer Society to develop an online portal with CRM functionalities for Patient Care Management, Patient Screening Management and Stakeholder and Event Management.

NOVEMBER

Acquired all shares of Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) Pte. Ltd.

DECEMBER

Received an order to supply ERP solution to KDDI Summit Global Myanmar.

Received an order for a Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) system from the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), the first PBT system in Southeast Asia.

2016

Secured an order from an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firm to deliver Gas-Insulated Switchgears (GIS) to PT Mass Rapid Transit Jakarta.

APRIL

Opened Hitachi APAC Office at South Beach Tower in Singapore.

AUGUST

Hitachi and the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. started Proof of Concept (PoC) testing for using blockchain technology for digitalisation of cheques in Singapore.

SEPTEMBER

Hitachi’s Finger Vein Authentication Solutions (FVA-100) was awarded Silver in the Access Control category of the Safety & Security Asia (SSA) Merlion Awards, which honour outstanding new designs and products in the field of security.

Transferred Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Group to Hitachi-Johnson Controls Air Conditioning, Inc. following its establishment.

Received an order from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in Singapore to study and design a National Energy Efficiency Repository project.

OCTOBER

Hosted Vietnam’s first Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2016 VIETNAM in Ho Chi Minh City.

DECEMBER

Hosted Indonesia’s first Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2016 INDONESIA in Jakarta.

February

Launched a research hub with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS to promote global collaboration in Applied Brain Science for Optical Topography in Malaysia.

Hosted Malaysia’s first Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2017 MALAYSIA, in Kuala Lumpur.

MARCH

Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the digitisation of financial services provided by Vietnam Post jointly with SMBC in Vietnam.

April

Established Financial Institutions Business Unit (FIBU).

MAY

Secured a repeated order of 3 mobile substations from Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) through PT CG Power Systems Indonesia.

June

Hosted the Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2017 MANILA to showcase the role of corporations in creating smart cities and to support urban development.

Collaborated with Hitachi Power Systems Indonesia (HPSI) to secure orders of over 150 bays of Gas-Insulated Switchgears (GIS) for 24 substations.

July

Held the 14th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative in Yangon, Myanmar.

Designed and implemented a big data analytics project for one of the largest road operators in Singapore.

August

Completed the phase 1 test bed to develop urban safety and security solutions at Sentosa Island.

September

Hitachi and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) office concluded a cooperation agreement on the use of IoT technologies to drive development along the EEC and across Thailand.

Awarded the second phase of overhauling work for monorail trains by Sentosa Development Corp.

Hitachi won an order from Meralco through “One Hitachi” team effort.

Won a smart shop floor automation project relating to Industry 4.0, from an American multinational corporation for their factory in Singapore.

OCTOBER

Developed and launched an online contracts storage system module in the Contracts Management System in ASEAN.

NOVEMBER

Hosted the Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2017 KUALA LUMPUR focusing on Internet of Things and Collaborative Creation.

DECEMBER

Hosted the Board Meeting of Hitachi, Ltd. for the first time in Singapore and took the opportunity to reaffirm the strong relationships with key regional partners.

Organised our first community outreach initiative where staff of Hitachi Group Companies in Singapore played Santa to over 200 beneficiaries at the Christmas Village in Ngee Ann City.

2018

I enjoy working with my team as they are very positive and supportive. Looking ahead towards the next 30 years, I hope that Hitachi will continue to be known globally for delivering innovations that contribute towards a better world, and a better tomorrow.

Hosted Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2018 BANGKOK, themed “Illuminating Thailand 4.0”.

Hitachi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SCG Cement-Building Materials Co., Ltd. to promote energy-savings across factories and increase efficiency in the dispatching process utilising IoT.

NOVEMBER

Marked our 28th year of sponsorship of Christmas Light-up along Orchard Road and contribution to Community Chest of Singapore with group companies in Singapore.
