On 19th Oct 2021, Hitachi Asia proudly hosted its first Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Panel Forum, focusing on the theme, “Charting the path towards a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce – Challenges and Benefits”.
During the interactive session, our panelists, Ms. Carrie Tan, Mr. Shamil Zainuddin, Mr. Patrick Zhao, and Mr. Tang Chay Wee, came together to share their valuable insights on creating inclusive workplaces, how to avoid issues such as tokenism, as well as strategies for maintaining a sustainable workforce. Participants also engaged in a highly interactive Q&A session on how we can collectively create a safe and inclusive workplace in the face of challenging unconscious biases.
While she was unable to participate in person, our Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Ms. Lorena Dellagiovanna, joined us via a recorded interview to share about the Hitachi Group’s direction for D&I and address some of the key D&I challenges that are prevalent in Southeast Asia. Ms. Lorena also shared words of encouragement and advice for the D&I journey ahead.
Through this session, our colleagues from the Hitachi Group companies in the ASEAN region benefitted greatly from the insights provided by our panelists. Together, we will work towards achieving the D&I vision!
