One Hitachi STEM Education Programme: Inspiring a new generation of innovators

Recognising the increasing need to develop and nurture the next generation of innovators, Hitachi Asia partnered with Hitachi High Tech to bring STEM education alive for local students. Dubbed as the “One Hitachi STEM Education Programme”, students were given opportunities to explore the wonders of the microscopic world.

Held in Qifa Primary School from 24 to 26 March, each session of the STEM education activity was conducted virtually by linking three different locations across Japan and Singapore. While the Hitachi High Tech team in Japan provided the access and support to provide students remote access control to the TM4000 equipment, the local team from Hitachi High Tech Singapore and Hitachi Asia delivered the STEM lesson in school and assisted the students to virtually control the equipment for better viewing and discovery of each specimen collected.

Through the interactive and engaging sessions conducted for over 200 students, the enthusiasm, curiosity and interest levels of the students amazed the Hitachi team, making them determined to do more for STEM education in the future.

Plans of expanding this programme to our regional countries are also underway to ensure that we can reach out to every child. Together as One Hitachi, we are committed to contribute towards the success of SDG Goal 4, Quality Education through STEM education.
