Farewell Message from Managing Director, Mr. Kosuke Horiuchi

Dear Colleagues,

As my time in Hitachi Asia Ltd. (HAS) comes to an end, I look back on my tenure in Singapore with fondness. It has been a great honor working alongside such a talented team in the last four years. Since joining HAS as Deputy Managing Director in 2016, it has been nothing but good memories.

Firstly, I was responsible for strengthening Hitachi’s business, particularly in the area of global IT sector for financial institutions. Then when I was appointed Managing Director the following year, I was tasked to further grow the operations of Hitachi’s businesses and expand Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business across the ASEAN region. Today, I am pleased to see more of Hitachi’s presence and solutions in the region such as the Super Low Energy Building (SLEB) Smart Hub, the setup of the world’s first Lumada Center Southeast Asia, as well as the provision of IT services to achieve the digitization of Vietnam Post’s financial services. However, the best is yet to come.

With the 2021 Mid-term Management Plan (MMP) in place, I strongly believe that Hitachi is set for further growth. Under the guidance of your new Managing Director, Mr. Takatoshi Sasaki who has an extensive background working with different stakeholders, especially in the Sales and Marketing of Information Systems for Government and Public Corporations, I am certain he will lead HAS to greater heights.

During my stint in HAS, I hope I have personally embodied and instilled in each of you the Hitachi Values namely Harmony, Sincerity and Pioneering Spirit. These values are the cornerstone of Hitachi and the guide that the generations before us have relied on over Hitachi’s 100-years of history. I implore every Hitachi staff to live by these values and keep it close to your heart, as you power good in your area of expertise.

Ultimately, we are in the business of creating a better society at large, where each of us are responsible to grow the Social Innovation Business. No matter which part of the world we are in, let’s continue powering good personally and professionally. And like me, I hope you will always be proud to say, “I am Hitachi!”
