Happy Lunar New Year!

I hope most of you had the opportunity to spend some quality time with your family and loved ones during the recent holiday season, and are all rejuvenated as we reach the end point of the 2018 Mid-Term Management Plan.

FY2019 is a critical year for us. This is the year where we will know whether our hard work is paid off in the 2018 Mid-Term Management Plan. This is also the year where the new 2021 Mid-Term Management Plan will be rolled out. Remember the key word here will be “Transformation”.

I wish to take some time to appreciate and encourage every one of you. Thank you all for your hard work thus far! Whether we achieve the goals of the 2018 Mid-Term Management Plan, I hope that everyone will continue to work even harder to achieve breakthrough results personally and professionally.

On this note, I would like to highlight Hitachi Asia Ltd. (HAS) 30th anniversary. Exactly 30 years ago in February 1989, we planted the very first seeds here in Singapore where it later grew and became the regional headquarters (RHQ) of Hitachi, Ltd. 1989 was also a critical year for Hitachi and a significant milestone that we celebrate because it was from then that we eventually expanded our footprints to the other parts of Southeast Asia. As we continue to innovate and improve the quality of life for the societies in this region in the next 30 years and beyond, let us remember where it all started.
