The Hitachi Global Foundation alumni, together with representatives of Hitachi Asia Ltd. led by Mr. Yoshito Kodama, Managing Director, Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. met on three separate occasions in June 2018 to formally turn over books to eight elementary schools in central, north and north-eastern Thailand.
The books, covering age-appropriate topics such as science, arts, and mathematics were carefully selected after consulting with school officials. All contributions made by Hitachi Asia Ltd. and Hitachi Group of Companies in Thailand were used to purchase the books, which were delivered in March 2018 to the schools.
When asked about the donated books, a school official in Khon Kaen province, northeast of Thailand expressed sincere appreciation to Hitachi. The books, she said will be a valuable supplement to their lessons for students.
The books’ donation is an annual initiative of the Hitachi Group of Companies in Thailand in partnership with the alumni of Hitachi Global Foundation since the early 1990s. The alumni currently occupy positions of leadership and influence across esteemed universities in the country. Through donating books, Hitachi hopes to contribute to Thailand society together with its partners.
