On 13th and 14th February 2025, the I am Hitachi Workshop 2025 and the Inspiration of the Year Global Award 2024 Commendation Ceremony for Southeast Asia and Oceania region brought together colleagues from across the two regions for two days of learning, teamwork, and celebration. This 2-day workshop exemplified Hitachi’s commitment to fostering the 'One Hitachi' spirit while embracing the Hitachi values of Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit.
Day 1: Learning and Collaboration
HAS Managing Director, Mr. Shinichi Sakai sets the stage with an inspiring welcome address.
The workshop began with a warm welcome from Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd., Mr. Shinichi Sakai, who shared his personal insights and enthusiasm for the workshop. His inspiring address set the tone for an engaging and dynamic two-day experience.
Mr. Shibuya shares key insights on the Hitachi Brand Refresh.
Mr. Yusaku Shibuya from the Corporate Branding Dept, Global Corporate Brand & Communications Division (GCBCD), Hitachi Ltd., took participants through an engaging and informative session on the recent Brand Refresh, covering the latest branding guidelines. Participants gained valuable insights on what to expect from the upcoming Brand Refresh and how to make full use of the extensive brand materials available.
Regional speakers unpack the Hitachi Group Identity: Ms. Marichris, Mr. Emil, and Mr. Yoshida.
Insightful sessions on the Hitachi Group Identity followed, led by Hitachi Asia Ltd’s very own talented speakers: Ms. Marichris Lim from the Philippines, Mr. Emil Hutabarat from Indonesia, and Mr. Masanobu Yoshida from Singapore. Their presentations underscored the history and founding of Hitachi, the Hitachi Group Identity, our shared purpose and the brand values, further reinforcing a stronger sense of unity among participants.
Ms. Monica leads a thought-provoking session on fostering inclusivity in the workplace.
A thought-provoking session on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) by DEI Specialist Ms. Monica Jean from HAS Philippines Corporate Strategy Office also inspired participants to appreciate workplace diversity and embrace inclusivity in their own professional journeys.
A fun-filled afternoon with the teambuilding activities!
The afternoon was all about teamwork in action. Participants took on engaging team-building activities designed to promote strategic thinking and collaboration.
Participants hard at work on the “I am Hitachi” domino chain”!
One of the main highlights was the domino-chain challenge, where teams worked together to connect their assigned domino blocks - each representing a letter - to the next team. Through seamless teamwork and coordination, participants successfully linked their blocks to spell out "I am Hitachi". This simple yet powerful activity reinforced how individual efforts contribute to the collective success across the Hitachi Group.

The eventful day concluded with a heartfelt closing address from the Deputy General Manager of Corporate Communications Group, Ms. Clarice Tan, who expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm and active participation the participants has shown.
Day 2: Outdoor Team Building and Celebration
Outdoor activities at HortPark put our teams to the test.
The second day kicked off with outdoor team-building activities at Hort Park, where the teams had their problem-solving skills and teamwork put to the test. These activities not only strengthened camaraderie but also brought the Hitachi Values to life.
One of the top 3 teams who exhibited exemplary initiatives during the 2-day workshop that were aligned with Hitachi’s Founding Spirit.
A well-deserved lunch followed at Vineyard, where the top 3 performing teams were recognised by CHRO, General Manager of HCG and CCG, Ms. Florence Chow, for embodying the Hitachi values of Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit.
Meet the IYGA2024 winners!
The event culminated with the IYGA2024 Commendation Ceremony for Southeast Asia and Oceania region where Mr. Shinichi Sakai presented the awards to this year’s winner. The ceremony celebrated their innovative contributions, providing a platform to showcase their projects and inspire fellow colleagues across the Hitachi Group to participate in the next IYGA.
Ms. Florence Chow wrapped up the ceremony, encouraging attendees to continue driving positive change in the world.
More than just an event, the I am Hitachi Workshop 2025 was a testament to the shared vision and collective strength of everyone at Hitachi. The organising team would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all participants for making the workshop a success. The dedication and enthusiasm shown during those 2 days truly made the experience a memorable one!
