A New Chapter: Message from New Managing Director, Mr. Shinichi Sakai

Greetings Everyone!

Since joining Hitachi more than three decades ago, I am excited and deeply humbled to return as the new Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd. This is a valuable opportunity for me, and akin to homecoming to my family in Hitachi Asia once again!

As I step into this role, allow me to express my sincere gratitude to Sasaki-san for his dedication and leadership. He has set a remarkable standard of excellence despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and I am committed to building upon what he has established.

As we transition into this new chapter, I want to assure you that my foremost priority is the well-being and success of Hitachi Asia. I firmly believe that we can move forward together for the future.

On this note, I want to share that I am committed to fostering a culture of open communication. In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting more of you personally to learn about your roles, experiences, and aspirations within the company. Your feedback is important in shaping our strategic direction, resolving issues, and ensuring that we remain agile and responsive to the needs of our customers.

Remember that the Hitachi Values of Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit remain our guiding principles in all that we do. And through embodying these values, we can achieve our mission to solve customer’s issue and needs in Southeast Asia for the next generation.

Our new office at Mapletree Business City is one such example that will allow us to collaborate more tightly amongst the Group Companies (GrCs). Designed to encourage collaboration, let us make full use of the facilities and create an atmosphere to co-create solutions for the betterment of people’s wellbeing.

We count on the support of every employee to be part of this goal. So please take note on the following three points:

1. Team: As a team, we can achieve more together.
2. Respect: Especially to those new to the Hitachi Group, we need to respect the differences that they bring along. When we respect one another, we can build mutual trust.
3. Connect: How to connect and bond with fellow Hitachi GrCs is another key role of Hitachi Asia where collaboration can be enhanced.

Once again, I am honored to be given this opportunity to lead this extraordinary team. Let us move ahead by working together and continue to stay healthy.
