Message from MD Sasaki

Greetings to my new Hitachi family in ASEAN!

I hope everyone is staying safe despite the current global pandemic. My name is Takatoshi Sasaki and I am very happy to join Hitachi Asia Ltd. (HAS) as Managing Director from 1 April.

As MD of HAS, my priority is to assure you that we will overcome this difficult time of COVID-19 together. The world is facing unprecedented threats that humanity has never experienced before, and everyone is doing its utmost to overcome it globally. So, I’d like to ask you to put the safety of yourself and your family first, before taking any actions needed to continue our business operations.

Since we are unable to host the HAS Bi-annual Gathering due to COVID-19, allow me to give you a brief introduction and background of myself.

I first joined Hitachi in 1993 and have been largely involved in promoting Hitachi’s IT systems by optimizing IT systems and providing solutions to the Japanese government. I’ve also had the chance to work with the private sectors in Japan such as logistics, railway and airline companies to promote collaborative creation, as well as provide competitive solutions based on Hitachi’s innovative fusion of products together with information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). More recently, my focus has been shifted to Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business and how to utilize Hitachi’s technology to solve social issues. That explains why I am very excited to have this opportunity to realize further economic growth in ASEAN which will improve the quality of life and happiness of people in this region. With the rapid urbanisation and development in ASEAN, I strongly believe that Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business has the potential to solve many societal challenges. Together, let’s inspire the world!

Until the current situation improves, hopefully by end-April, I would like to request for everyone’s support and cooperation to work with me to achieve these goals as I begin my journey in HAS. In the meantime, please stay safe and practice personal hygiene. United as “One Hitachi”, we will overcome COVID-19.
