Another successful run of the Inspiration of the Year Global Award 2020 (IYGA2020) concluded on 27th November! For the first time ever, the regional commendation ceremony for the Southeast Asia region took place as a hybrid event where 30 attendees were hosted physically at Hitachi Square while over 60 attendees from the region attended virtually.
As Singapore entered the second phase to safely reopen the country, more people could gather in the workplace with safe distancing measures. Hitachi Asia Ltd. Corporate Communications Group (HAS-CCG) took advantage of this opportunity and organised a hybrid event. While enabling the participants to witness the winning awards, they also incorporated a few engaging activities both offline and online to foster closer engagement amongst staff.
All 10 winners were honoured at the ceremony for their exemplary display of the Hitachi Values of Harmony, Sincerity and Pioneering Spirit through their winning projects.
In his opening address, Mr. Kojin Nakakita, Chairman of HAS emphasized on the power of teamwork. He shared that inspiration comes from team members working closely together, and only then will there be greater innovation to power good. This was followed by Chairman Nakakita presenting the awards to the first five winners.
Managing Director of HAS, Mr. Takatoshi Sasaki presented the remaining five awards and wrapped up the ceremony. As MD Sasaki’s first time attending the IYGA2020 commendation ceremony, he was impressed with all 10 winning projects, especially the top three winners, who had the opportunity to give an overview of their projects.
In summary, the HAS management strongly encouraged all winners to continue to think of how Hitachi can contribute to the society and further promote the Hitachi Brand, to both internal and external stakeholders.
