AI For Everyone: A Successful Journey of Exploration, Learning, and Growth!

On 22nd November 2024, Hitachi Asia (Thailand) gathered at the Lumada Center for a lively and insightful session on the world of AI titled, “AI For Everyone - Let’s Explore, Learn, and Grow Together”. The session was an exciting two hours of learning, experimentation, and discussions on how AI is shaping our work environment.



Opening speech from Mr. Somsak Garnjanakarn, Chief Marketing Officer


The session began with an inspiring opening by Mr. Somsak Garnjanakarn, Chief Marketing Officer, who set the stage, emphasising the importance of AI in today’s rapidly evolving landscape. He encouraged everyone to embrace AI not just as a tool, but also as a valuable partner in achieving our personal and professional goals. Using real-life examples, the session showcased AI’s capabilities and potential at work, streamlining processes and boosting efficiency. The collaborative space fostered active discussions, with participants sharing innovative ways to harness AI for smarter workflows and simpler everyday tasks.

The session continued with Ms. Praneet Koosurojn, Marketing Manager, who provided an engaging overview of how AI is currently being utilised at Hitachi. Through this sharing, AI was introduced in a clear and simple way, where participants were able to understand the basics of AI, exploring what it is and why it matters, without getting lost in the technicalities. Her approach greatly simplified AI, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience with AI.


One of the highlights of the afternoon was the hands-on activity, where participants got to experiment various AI tools and discover practical ways AI could simplify their day-to-day responsibilities.



Compliance and Ethics of using AI led by Ms. Phatrarapee Pholchai, Legal Counsel


Led by Ms. Phatrarapee Pholchai, Legal Counsel, an engaging discussion about the future of AI in the workplace followed. Her session, aptly titled “Compliance and Ethic of using AI” was a pivotal part of the afternoon, addressing not just the transformative potential of AI but also the importance of understanding its implications from a legal and ethical standpoint.


"AI is powerful, but with that power comes responsibility". Ms. Phatrarapee remarked, highlighting the importance of accountability in AI. She explained that AI models are only as good as the data they are trained on and stressed the importance of using diverse and representative data sets to train AI models to avoid any “unintended discrimination”.

The session concluded with Ms. Suwimon Khorphanlert, HR General Manager, who encapsulated the importance of the discussions shared during the day.


Ms. Suwimon acknowledged the energy and enthusiasm that had filled the room, and celebrated how everyone, regardless of their experience level, came together to learn and share. She emphasised that AI is not just a technology, but a tool for transformation, and it’s our willingness to explore, that will ultimately shape how AI empowers us to achieve greater success.
