Hitachi’s Idea Contest “Make a Difference!” is Now Calling for New Ideas!
The Make a Difference! Ideas Contest
The Make a Difference! Ideas contest has been held since 2015, with the aim of fostering an “I will!” mindset amongst employees. This initiative’s goal is to get employees to have a better perspective and work with a free mindset that is not bound by organizational or invisible barriers, as well as foster a culture that supports this.
This “I will!" mindset also embodies Hitachi's founding spirit, and the behaviour expected of every one of us to achieve sustainable growth.
Coming together based on that growth mindset and sharing the advanced skills and expertise cultivated in different fields, we hope you and your team will submit an idea as One Hitachi.
For the FY2023 contest, we are looking for new business ideas under the themes picked by the heads of three sectors, namely Hitachi, Ltd. Executive Vice Presidents Alistair Dormer, Masakazu Aoki, and Toshiaki Tokunaga. (We will also accept ideas for new businesses not related to the given themes, as well as ideas for job improvements that better the well-being of those working at Hitachi.)
Here are their themes!

Executive Vice President Head of the Green Energy & Mobility Sector | Theme: Ideas that contribute to the advancement of Green transition and succession in our Green business |
