Themed “Going Green for the Future”, the Board of Investment (BOI) Fair 2011 was held on 5 – 22 January 2012 at the Muang Thong Thani Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok Thailand. Hitachi’s “Tomorrow, Together” Pavilion received overwhelming responses from the crowd and attracted more than 95,000 visitors, including well-known entrepreneurs, diplomats, government officials and members of the press. On 4 January 2012, Hitachi executives including Mr. Makoto Nagashima, Managing Director, Hitachi Asia Ltd., Mr. Kazuo Karasawa from Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mr. Hidetoshi Kawamoto from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd., Mr. Munehiro Awataguchi from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd., Mr. Koji Kikuchi from Hitachi Automotive Systems Asia, Ltd. and Mr. Toshinori Osumi from Hitachi Chemical (Thailand) Co., Ltd., officiated the opening of Hitachi Pavilion through the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Hitachi Pavilion was created to take visitors to the vision of a sustainable future through Hitachi’s green technology. Designed under the concept of modernity, the Hitachi pavilion was an embodiment of elegance, simplicity and contemporary style. The pavilion design maintained local Thai elements while injecting contemporary ideas and sustainable concepts for a better future. Four zones within the building introduced the Japanese culture and Hitachi’s cutting-edge innovations. Each individual zone described the various possibilities of city development and future lifestyles with Hitachi's advanced green technology:

Urban Sustainability R&D Congress 2011

Focused on the theme, Collaborate, Integrate, Innovate, Urban Sustainability R&D Congress 2011 is a new national platform to discuss key state challenges in urban sustainability and to encourage a rich exchange of ideas for a better Singapore city. The Guest-of-Honour for the Congress was Minister Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower. About 1,300 delegates from government bodies, non-governmental organizations and research institutes attended the event. Hitachi Asia, together with Hitachi Plant Technologies (HPT), Central Research Laboratory (CRL) and Yokohama Research Laboratory (YRL) from Hitachi Ltd, presented a total of five innovations for overcoming the urban sustainability challenges during the two-day R&D Congress...

Singapore International Water Week 2011

Themed "Sustainable Water Solutions for a Changing Urban Environment", the Singapore International Water Week 2011 (SIWW 2011), held from 4 to 8 July 2011, was a successful industry platform for solutions-providers to address the latest and most pertinent water issues amidst a rapidly changing world. The Hitachi booth – a collaboration between Center of Excellence Division (COE) of Hitachi Asia, Hitachi Plant Technologies, Hitachi Aqua-Tech Engineering, and Hitachi Water Environment Solutions – attracted more than 8,000 delegates and was located prominently in the Japan Pavilion. Japan Green Innovation Exhibition Series 1: Smart City by Hitachi

On 20 November 2010, Hitachi Asia Ltd. launched the "Smart City by Hitachi" exhibition at the Japan Creative Centre (JCC). Inaugurated by Ambassador of Japan, Yoichi Suzuki and Emeritus Chairman of Hitachi, Ltd., Dr. Tsutomu Kanai, it is the first of a series of exhibitions introducing Japan eco technologies. Jointly organized by Japan Creative Centre and Hitachi Asia, this exhibition will feature the Hitachi Group's business contributions to achieve a sustainable society.
