Hitachi to host “Hitachi ICT Solution Day in Yangon”

– Hitachi’s first ICT event in Yangon –

YangonMyanmarNovember 7, 2016 — Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, “Hitachi”) and Hitachi Asia Ltd. announced today that they are hosting the “Hitachi ICT Solution Day in Yangon” for the first time, at Sedona Hotel. This marks the Hitachi Group’s third event in Myanmar.

Through hosted business seminars, the event will showcase Hitachi’s ICT solutions, one of the key drivers in Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business, which combines infrastructure and advanced information technologies.

The Hitachi ICT Solution Day will provide an opportunity to discuss technological answers from an ICT perspective to address various societal issues unique to Myanmar. Delegates can look forward to a keynote speech by U Thein Oo, Chairman of ACE Data Systems, followed by six business presentation sessions, all of which serve to introduce several ICT solutions contributing to Myanmar society’s quality of life. The six presentations will engage participants in areas such big data analytics, digital transformation, data centre operations, ICT platforms and applications.

Hitachi has been actively exploring business opportunities to further contribute to Myanmar’s society with its partners. Till date, Hitachi has been involved in several projects in Myanmar, such as the Port-EDI project which modernizes Myanmar’s industrial port. Under the grant aid by JICA, Hitachi will upgrade the ageing signaling system of the “Yangon-Mandalay” line. In addition, Hitachi is committed to the digitalization of money transfer operations in Myanmar post.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Hitachi has been contributing to the development of IT engineering though the establishment of the Hitachi Myanmar Laboratory at the University of Information & Telecommunications. By leveraging on Hitachi’s holistic capability for both OT and IT, Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business is an initiative that adds value to Myanmar’s societal and economic development directly.
