‘We make robots so people don’t have to be robots’
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and why it is necessary?
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a solution that allows a “robot” to emulate human actions while interacting with system applications to accomplish automation of repetitive, rule-based business processes.
RPA technology enables the automation of a task in same steps as a human does. Such robots do not mean that humans will be replaced by robotic process automation. Instead, a program will assist in completing repetitive and tedious business processes. RPA is used to automate labour-intensive tasks such as back-office processes, data entry, data validation etc. so that staffs can focus on more complex and important tasks.
RPA technology is different from other enterprise automation tools as it enables organisations to automate at a smaller cost and time as compared to other conventional IT solutions. RPA does not disrupt current systems and leverages on existing infrastructure hence implementation is non-intrusive and time-saving.
With RPA, cost efficiency and compliance are no longer an operating cost but a byproduct of the automation. RPA is best suited for tasks and processes that is labor intensive, very repetitive, and with high transaction volume.
