The Thailand Monorail Seminar was organised by Hitachi, Ltd. in cooperation with the Japan Monorail Association (JMA) on 18 November 2010 at the Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWord, Thailand.
The Guest-of-honour for the event was Mr Seiji Kojima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Thailand. Mr Silpachai Charukasemrattana, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Thailand, and Mr Gaku Suzuki, Vice President and Executive Officer, President and CEO of Industrial Infrastructure Systems Company, Hitachi, Ltd., made the opening remarks.
The seminar featured presentations on the latest monorail developments by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning, JMA, Tokyo Monorail Co., Ltd. and Hitachi, Ltd.
About 190 people from government sectors, academic fields, contractors, and consulting firms attended the seminar, as well as overseas guests from Singapore, India and Vietnam. Participants were given a Hitachi eco bag and a Sentosa monorail die-cast model.
The seminar also included an exhibition showcasing the Hitachi Monorail System and other innovations by the Hitachi Group.
