The inaugural Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI) Alumni Gathering concluded with a resounding success! Bringing together alumni from various batches to celebrate the spirit and unity of the HYLI programme,  the event was held on October 5^th and was a joyous occasion that fostered nostalgia, rekindled old friendships, and showcased the growth and progress of HYLI.

It was heartwarming to witness delegates from as early as 1996 mingling with the recent cohorts. This intergenerational mix created a unique and enriching atmosphere. The event featured a video throwback of our past HYLI programmes, followed by a speech by Guest-of-Honor, Ambassador Ong Keng Yong. Ambassador Ong participated at the 6^th HYLI in 2003 as one of the keynote speakers.

A dedicated networking session, thereafter, allowed the alumni to connect with one another, sharing their professional experiences and exploring potential collaborations. The event proved to be valuable for all.

“Thank you once again for organizing the HYLI meet-up. I am grateful that the team was persistent in persuading me to join the event as I was happy to reconnect with my old batchmates whom I have lost contact with.”, a comment made by one of the participants from the 2^nd HYLI batch in 1997.

The 2023 HYLI Alumni Gathering was not just a celebration of a shared history, but it was also a testament to the enduring bond that connects our alumni across the years and countries.  HYLI continues to fulfill its long-term commitment to society – building Asian leaders through this innovative education and providing a network for them.
